We deeply regret the passing of one of our finest sons, Alan Williams.

Very few members commanded more respect or admiration on the job than Alan. A proud BL, Alan joined the union in 1974 and was a continuous member for 48 years before being awarded Honorary Life membership in 2012. He was a Union Shop Steward to his boot straps. One of our best. The term ‘they don't make them like him anymore' is often bandied about, but so true in the case of Alan Williams.

Alan, your brave struggle is now over. We will miss you and you will always be remembered in our hearts. RIP. Our sincerest condolences to the Williams family.

Mick Buchan, the executive, members and staff of CFMEU.
