  • VALLIS ROBERT W Robert bounced onto staff at Salmon Gums school in March 1966. He radiated enthusiasm and good humour, he was diligent and innovative, flamboyant but modest and above average in musical and artistic endeavors. He took on secretary of the local show committee and gave it 110%. Robert worked on farms at weekends thus being aware of the trials and tribulations of the locals, along with funding his goal of traveling to England. He was an all around asset for 2 years and a friend forever.

  • VALLIS ROBERT A firm and trusted friend to me since Elizabeth Jolley introduced us in 1985, Robert had a piercing intelligence, cutting wit and, above all, a kind heart. He had a productive career in the arts thanks to his fine judgement. He was wise and courageous until the very end. I and many others who have benefited from his generosity and his friendship will miss him deeply. May he rest in peace.
