  • TONKIN (Arthur):

Remembered as my mentor and advisor in my early teaching years, in my years with him in the WA Parliament and for early athletics coaching. I am glad he lived to see one-vote-one-value introduced for the whole WA Parliament.

  • TONKIN (Arthur):

For us Arthur Tonkin is remembered as the politician who in 1972 lit the fire under parliamentary and electoral reform eventually leading to a decent system. And he was the first Minister for Environment. A great legacy for WA.
