THORNE (CHRISTOPHER)

15.12.1938—11.03.2021 It's with great sadness the family of Chris Thorne advise of his passing. Beloved husband of Val, father to Helen and Belinda, father-in-law to Todd and Richard and grandad to James and Matthew. Chris leaves behind his adored siblings Maurice, Daphne and Barbara. He was a great mate to many. He worked hard, loved fiercely and enjoyed a beer or two. He loved a game of golf and a good yarn.

He will be forever missed.

Two years ago on Friday that you sneaked off. We came to visit on Saturday. Had chats about who you were to us. Tinkering and fixing things. Fishing trips. Tobacco smells. Turning random things into philosophical life lessons. We loved your kombi van. We thought you were way cool with that car. You made my doll house from scratch. Also you were a grumpy sod 😆.

    Love you forever and ever.

Love you dad. Thinking of you so much, especially lately, though not sure why. You were a conundrum to Helen and I often, and we reflect on that as we go through these days without you. Wish I really knew your deepest heartfelt hopes and dreams, your anxieties, your regrets and your best joyful memories. But you were ever private and saw this stuff as all a bit of fuss.

Love you forever, miss your voice and hugs.
