    My dear Steve,

Words cannot express the sadness I have in my heart. You were a loving husband for 51 years and together we shared a wonderful life. We had an amazing journey together and achieved many goals, raising 4 precious children and 5 beautiful and adored grandchildren. My life will not be the same without you by my side and you will not be forgotten.

Your loving wife, your Nevesta, Helen

    SKANTZOS (Steve):

There are special people in our lives who never leave us, even after they are gone, and Tate, you hold that special place for us. I treasure all the great memories, your daily visits next door for a coffee, sharing a beer or 2 with Rocco, your wealth of knowledge, "fix-it" tips, cracking a joke and simply being there with us. A humble achiever whose greatest accomplishment was his family. I see myself in you, a reflection of your character, and I am proud to say I am your daughter. Thank you for your generosity, wisdom, unconditional love and acceptance. I promise to take special care of Rocco and the boys. We will look after Mum and continue to make you proud. After work catch ups in the garage with the boys will never be the same. Missing you so much already, with love, Liche (Angela), Rocco, Jarrod and Joshua

    SKANTZOS (Steve):

So grateful to have been by your side sharing these precious last moments together. Thank you for all you have created, shared and given. I promise your legacy will continue and your story will always be told. Sharing our life and home in Canada with you was such a precious and wonderful time. Thank you. May you be kept safe and happy in the arms of angels. With heavy hearts we say goodbye to our Tate and Dedo.

Julie, Steven, Rachel and Aimee (your little Canadians)

    SKANTZOS (Steve):

In loving memory of my Tate. Thank you for everything we did together. I was your right arm and you are my dad, best friend, hero and idol. I keep seeing your proud smiling and happy face. We can't believe you are gone as we need you still. We will never forget the time we had together and what you have done for us. I am proud to be the son of the greatest man and honour your name through Steven.

Lots of love from Itse (Chris), Josephine and Steven

    SKANTZOS (Steve):

To my Dedo, I loved the times we had playing and making things in the shed, sitting at the back having ice creams and having a tea when we went crabbing. You are my best friend, I miss you and I love you lots. I wish I could see you again.

    Love from your grandson Steven

    SKANTZOS (Steve):

Thank you for being my Dad, for giving me a life filled with opportunities and for showing me that anything is possible in life. I will try to carry with me some of your ambition, resilience and generosity. I am at peace knowing you achieved what you came here to do and that I was with you right until the end. Through the moments in life that will come, the significant and the small, I will make sure to remember there is part of you with me always that I will hold near.

All my love and gratitude, your Ketche, Kathy

Our sincere condolences to Helen, children and partners Angela and Rocco, Julie and Steve, Chris and Josephine, and Kathy, grandchildren Jarrod, Josh, Rachel, Aimee and Steven, and Steve's cousin Louie for their heartbreaking loss. Steve enjoyed life to the full. He was always sociable, welcoming and fun loving but also caring, sincere, hard working and resourceful. Steve's main job was trucking, he loved the freedom of the open spaces. He grew up in Geraldton. His working career started there but ultimately motors, grease, oil and trucks became his lifelong passion. Eventually he came to live in Perth. Here he met Helen and the poor young girl couldn't get a moment's peace so she married him. Perth became Steve's permanent home but he still loved Geraldton and visited often. After marrying Helen he spared no time or energy providing for his family and was an honest hard working man. Just a good bloke. Steve's final months were tragic. He battled hard but the enemy won the war and the Angels took Steve safely home. Steve has been an enduring friend spanning many decades. He will be greatly missed.

Goodbye old friend, May you rest in peace. Sophia, Arthur, Michael.
