PLATTS Terry

Obituary Guest Book 5 Messages

PLATTS TERRY Passed away peacefully on 31.01.21 after a short illness. A loving wife to Steve, Mom to Carrie and sister to Elizabeth (Larry T) Toronto, Canada and Larry (dec). The family would like to thank the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff on ward G73 SCGH for their support and care.

Our hearts are broken that you were taken too soon and that the A Team has lost its captain. Dockers mad, lover of rock n roll and travel, you always knew what to say and when. We will miss your generosity, directness, humour, wisdom and smile, but we will always have our many memories. Fly with the angels and the birds, we will love you always and forever. We will miss you Tez.

Love Steve and Caz J10 xo

Terry was a big part in my life from grade 9 till she left for Australia…….

She was a light, a lot of laughs and someone you could confide in.

Her great attitude, wild hair and ability to make a festive ambience surround her are all fond memories to me.

I was just a kid whenever Carrie came over. I remember playing in the basement and bundling up to go outside. I remember how happy Terry made my Mom and how much they laughed together. I could tell that they had an everlasting friendship, even still lasting in our hearts and thoughts.

Carrie, Steve and family. I was so sorry to hear about your loss. Some of my favourite memories are of the trips to Weyburn/Regina and Carrie and Terry braving Canadian winters. I hope your memories bring you comfort during this time. Sending love and thoughts to you and your family ♥️ ~ Sarah

Terry was a kind soul, Her friendship was unwavering.

I can’t remember what year we met but I know it was 50 years of a priceless friendship.

She believed there was always more in life to be thankful for than there was to complain about.

No matter how many years between our in person visits, we always were able to pick up and continue our conversation from whatever we said last to each other, in our many letters.

I remember going over to Hank and Betty’s and rolling those white sheet rolls for the boxing rings. Coffee was always on!

One time when Carrie and Terry came to Canada and stayed with us that was one of Terry’s comments. Can we put more coffee on? Good grief it was late at night, but it didn’t matter. She felt like having a coffee. So coffee was made.

I remember when Terry and Judy decided to go to Australia for 6 months. Yes, she said, see you in 6 months. Then her VISA was renewed and she met Steve. The love of her life! I knew she was not coming back to Canada. She was in love and settling into a life so well deserved.

She talked often of having the “barbies” on the beach. Seafood for Christmas dinners. Not missing the Canadian winters. Raising her beautiful daughter Carrie and how proud she was of both Carrie and Steve for all they accomplished in their education and career goals.

Richard Russo, author and screenwriter, says and I quote, “Lives are like rivers: Eventually they go where they must. Not where we want them to.”

Our most deepest sympathies to you Steve, Carrie, Elizabeth, and Larry.

A precious wife, mother, sister, friend is going to be truly missed but never forgotten. We love you! Colleen and Frank

    Steve, Carrie, Elizabeth and Larry,

So sorry to hear about Terry. Many fond memories growing in Weyburn and all the good times on Ash Drive. Terry was a force of nature.

    My sympathies
