Farewell Audrey! Fond memories of Christmases long ago, and visiting the farm house, with Audrey as queen of the kitchen. Her cooking was very high order country fare, with roasts, and Christmas puddings with her special brandy sauce. In the old carefree days it was cream puffs and all the amazing country morning tea sweets. She was the counterpoint to the suave Jim as he would serve out the drinks from his amazing drinks cabinet. He would also delight in putting on the record player with his favourite swing and jazz music from the early days. She would appear from the kitchen and with a word dismantle the bubble of repartee that Jim and Dad (Lester) had no doubt worked up, which had probably focussed on their (lack of) sporting achievements and the Dangin - Quairading sporting rivalry. 'Oh don't talk such rot!'
PARKER AUDREY Circa 1924.
We cooked, laughed, shared and loved our lives together with Julie and our kids right to the very end.
More than an Aunt and Godmother, a very special love for you Aud, Jamie.
Farewell to a lovely lady. Always welcoming, warm and generous with her time. Deepest sympathy to all of the family.
From Margaret and Mark Strickland and family.
Farewell Audrey. We will miss, among other things, your interest in our lives, your humour, your love, your cooking and your memory. 97 years was a lot to recall, but you did it. Love Lester, Mary, David, Ming Fang, Helen, Mark, Roger (dec) and families.
Deepest sympathy to all of Audrey's Family. To the best of our knowledge Audrey was Quairading's last female Service Veteran of WWII.
