  • MURPHY (Valmore):

My heartfelt sympathy to Mary and family on the loss of a great man.

I had the privilege of being Val's Deputy at Aranmore and learnt so much from Val about how to live, how to educate and how to love people and life. He was my hero, my mentor and my role model.

Even now, when not sure what to do, I can ask "what would Val have done?" and know the best way forward. I am sure he would say today: "Let us celebrate a life well lived".

May God bless you and your family, Val.

    Jef. (and Helen and family)

    Dear Mary, Leah and Family,

My sympathies to you all on your great loss.

Val gave me my first teaching job at Aranmore. He was an excellent mentor, leader and storyteller. I'll always remember his deep, joyful laugh, his wicked sense of humour and the way he told it like it was. His life touched many.

    RIP dear Val.

    With love, Andrea and family.
