Born May 22nd, 1953, Yarloop, WA, passed away peacefully at her home after a short illness in Daly River, NT, Monday 17th June. Loved birth Mum of Derek and Belinda, grandchildren Amelia and Nash, SA. Much loved sister of Carol, Jan and brother Peter (dec).
Loved aunty to Tracy, Neville and Daniel (dec), Peta, Murray, Sonia, Vanessa, Rebecca and Toni. Great-aunty of 13. Off flying with your birds. Funeral Wednesday 25th June at Daly River, NT.

Joyebelle was quite simply one of the most unique and tenacious women I have ever met. She was among the last of the great pioneering women in the Top End. Joye possessed a kind heart, endless energy and compassion, and a drive and determination to "prove the bastards wrong" every time. Her legacy will be honoured by successive generations of landscape ecologists and weed warriors. RIP Joye, you will always be in our hearts.
