LEKIAS Dr Michael

Obituary Guest Book 38 Messages

LEKIAS (DR MICHAEL)

Baby bear to Pappa bear,

My heart is breaking and I want you back. Thank you for being my mentor, for your guidance, your honesty, your huge personal sacrifice and the way you loved me. You taught me so much about life, I miss our daily conversations, our laughs and your reassuring words and hugs. You were a dynamic force with a fragility and gentleness which I felt lucky to share as your youngest daughter. It was this part of you that truly connected us; I will be forever grateful that you saw and understood me in all my complexity as I did you. Thank you for seeing me Dad. I feel so honoured with the trust you have always had in me and although you sometimes drove me crazy it really was a privilege to be your PA, confidant and "attache" as you would call me. I already feel lost without you. I wish you could call me again. My heart is broken now you are gone. I am sorry I didn't have a magic wand. I love you Pappa bear. Baby bear over and out.

LEKIAS (Dr Michael):

Dearest Mick,

Thank you for your care and patience, for the tough love when it was needed and the gentle quiet that understood. Experience that didn't preach but shared its successes and failures as life's lessons well learnt.

If I made you laugh, it made my day, now that silence undoes me. I will miss you Orso, love Stormie aka "Jimmy the Cricket"

Thank you Mic for being our family doctor from 1955. Your advice and help was always the best. As a midwife it was wonderful to assist you in the very busy Bentley Hospital during the 1970's. Your expertise and care of your patients was wonderful.

Our condolences and heartfelt sorrow for the family who we met as little children poking their heads around the surgery doors from time to time. Peace and love of God be with you all.

Sincere Sympathy to the Lekias family

As a twin delivered by Dr Lekias in the late 50’s, I remember him visiting our house in Barbican Street to see my Nana, Mum and Dad after a major accident.

He did house calls and was always eager for a chat and a cuppa with the family. Eventually we left Riverton in the mid 60’s but I was lucky enough to return to teach at Riverton Primary and was lucky enough to teach his grand daughter Serena.

He was an amazing Dr, father and grandfather and will be forever in my memories.

Love and sincere sympathy to his extended family. RIP Dr Lekias

    Dear Michael,

Thank you for your guidance over the past years. It was a privilege for me to have spent time with you and an honour to be part of your final journey in your life.

Your dynamic approach to life and your extraordinary passions will always inspire me.

Farewell my friend, may you rest in peace.

As a child in the 60’s, I remember Dr Lekias coming down to our house in Walpole St, (which was near his surgery) to talk to my sick dad.

That was when drs did house calls, but he was also like a friend. Dad had a breakdown and he would come and just sit on the bed and talk with dad on many occasions.

Eventually dad came good with time and the patience given to him by his Dr.

Dr Lekias was a wonderful Dr, man and human being. He was also our family Dr.

    RIP. DR.🩺

  • LEKIAS MICHAEL I had a bump he'd fix me,

I had a need he'd fulfill it. I had a tear he'd dry it and if I lost my way he'd find me. Yesterday I called for him to mend my broken heart but now he's gone and I can't breathe, my world's been torn apart.

My dad. Will miss you. Your Mishi

Farewell Grandad, it's our honour to carry your legacy.

  • LEKIAS DR MICHAEL Dad your journey is over. You have left an indelible mark on the many lives you have touched.

Your accomplishments too numerous to list, your humanity, and loyalty were the hallmarks of a dignified and illustrious man devoted to his family and a life in the practice of medicine.

Your social conscience was boundless in your service to your community.

What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others.

Farewell dear father, your son Simon.

If anyone was offended by the announcement of my father's passing via social media (prior to the family's official proclamation) please accept my sincerest apologies.

  • LEKIAS MICHAEL Condolences to Simon, Nadia, Michelle, Melissa and all of the Lekias family at the loss of Dr Mick. May the peace that comes from the memories of love shared, comfort you now and in the days ahead. He was with me at the moment of my birth pronouncing me "a real little Greek" popping in for a toast with my Grandpa. For all of his career he was our only doctor. He is impossible to replace. My Nanna loved him so much and I am sure has already found him up there. We were all so proud of him in all that he achieved in his life. No one is truly gone until the memories of their love and all that they have given are no longer in the hearts of those they touched. Uncle Mick will live a long, long time in my heart and in the hearts of many others. Always Loved. Forever Missed. Never Forgotten. Reunited with Aunty Rina.

Rest in Peace Uncle Mick, I love you.

Narida, Sean, Thomas, Jack and Shan.
