Obituary Guest Book 2 Messages

After a short illness Dad passed away on the 11.10.2019 aged 81. He was a good man, and everything his family enjoys today is because of him. He was a bit of a grumpy old hermit but all his neighbours cried when I told them the sad news, one family even called him uncle, I'll miss him he was my friend.

  • KOCKEN (Cornelis):

Thank you my brother for your kind words and enduring welfare to Dad. May our father’s immortal soul rest in a calm and kind place.

  • KOCKEN CORNELIUS To a loving father, Cornelius Michael (Mike) Kocken, passed away on the 11.10.2019 aged 81, who spent a life mixed with adventure and travel to far-flung places.

Who in 1959, aged 21, voyaged from Mierlo, Holland, to the other side of the globe in search of a new life. Who ran many successful small businesses with skills, determination and ability.

My father was quick-witted and well opinionated, all coupled to an ethos of hard work and superior cognitive capacity.

Dad had a few quirks which I have also inherited.

He was an honest and ethical man with a true sense of right from wrong, fairness and a guiding moral compass, who truly made self-sacrifice for his family.

Hopefully, at least, some of his fine and first class character traits have been imbedded in my DNA and serve as a model for my family.

Dad, may you find peace in the light that you served your family in a profound and positive manner, and your immortal soul rest in a calm and kind place.

    Your proud youngest son.
