Obituary Guest Book 13 Messages

Born Llandeilo, Wales on 18.7.1926 and passed away peacefully at Port Kennedy, WA, on the 25.1.2021. Dearly loved husband of Moira for 64 years, father of Glyn and Rick, Pop of Rhiannon, Kyle, Reegan and Sarah. Grandpop of Lucas, Keeva, Sofie, Lucy (in the sky) and Ollie. Brother of Mary, Goronwy and Geraint (all dec), and Leslie. What a journey; Wales, Ongerup and family were the keystones of Taff's life which he built on. Developing a new land block, finally understanding Aussie Rules Football and forever proud of his Best and Fairest 1953 Cup. Some Borden and Gnowangerup folk queried the ‘Best' in this. Clearing the block, burning, root picking, poison picking until he could have sheep safely. Bob Noble of Elders, when he asked Taff how many sheep he wanted for his first sale, Taff said "25". When Bob understood 25 was not 2500 he asked Taff for their names. Memories of happy, challenging and sad times in our lives together, but never dull. The farm was never work to Taff, just life. A red letter day for Taff was our first 100 bales of wool. Taff loved the camper trailer and the real outback; Birdsville, Emerald, Innamincka, Strzelecki. A bit further afield back to the UK, Ireland, Canadian Rockies and Madison USA.

He loved coming home more than anything.

A real homing pigeon.

He went to sleep holding my hand and truly deserves his rest.

Special thanks to Bethanie Waters Port Kennedy for their care and compassion.

Born in Wales, rested in Australia and in between, a life packed full of hard work, success, friends and family. Built for battle, if you could stand with the old man, you could stand anywhere... Thanks for teaching me that good things don't come easy and nothing replaces perseverance and hard work. A hard man but a good man - thanks Dad.

Well old fella it took a while but you finally got what you wanted in the end. Thanks for being my "old man" my mate and even sometimes my adversary. The many trips back from a ram, sheep or clearing sale when a few beers oiled the conversation. The years we worked together and the faith you showed in me. Although you haven't been "with us" for a while its still sad to see you go. I'll have a beer raise a glass and wait for you to say "here's fun" Glyn

  • JONES David TAFFY Pop. How lucky I have been to have had you in my life for 33 years. Down the road on the farm, weekends out of boarding school with you and Nanna, discussions and debates about the Dockers, nursing and what's wrong with CBH. You stuck around to see me achieve so much and were always so proud of me. I know you're now at peace and looking after my baby girl - just as you always looked after me.

    Love Rhiannon,

Joel, Sofie, Lucy in the Sky and Ollie.
