  • JAGT (Catharina):

So grateful to have the chance to know you dear Catharina.

You supported me discovering the strength of a mother's love and instinct.

I will treasure your example of generosity. You always made time for me. Your hospitality was amazing. Even when we were half a country apart, you gave hospitality to my mind and spirit! You gave me safe space to talk about some really difficult stuff. And you were brave and generous in sharing your own experiences, and the lessons.

I would have loved to be in your classroom as a child. Even now I gravitate towards teachers like you.

Such a beautiful legacy you have in your own kids and your love for them, and in the strength of your example to a mother like me. No doubt I'll continue to look towards your star.

    Love always,

  • JAGT Catharina (Rina):

On 3 November 2019 in Hobart aged 72 after a long illness. Devoted mother to Andrew and Marieke. Never lost her love for the family and life she left behind in The Netherlands at age 22, yet fully embraced the new life in Australia thrust upon her. Resilient, determined, intelligent, gregarious, energetic, creative, artistic, restless, complex. A sad, yet liberating end to a spirited life.
