Our deepest sympathy to Tonka, Susie, Nadia and families for their sad loss of Ivan.
As captain of Manitoba he became a legendary character of the west coast. Over many years he safely navigated the good ship on numerous voyages to Rottnest in the summer, and many points north in the winter. These included Dirk Hartog, Ningaloo, Exmouth, Montebellos and even to Broome and Prince Regent in the Kimberleys.
He always got the good ship home despite some very challenging circumstances. He was immensely proud of his charge.
He was a capable, good natured and cheerful personality and he will be very fondly remembered by all our families and many friends who were fortunate to have sailed with him.
