HAWKES DAVID Having informed, entertained and educated thousands throughout his remarkable life and career in radio and television, David embarked on his final journey on the evening of Thursday 24 June 2021.
He was surrounded by family in his last days and farewelled peacefully and with much love.
David will be sorely missed by many but most of all by Aileen and Rosemary, his sons John and Sean, his daughters Jenny, Alice and Amanda, and his grandchildren Rachael Aredhel, Aidan, Maeve, Nicholas, Timothy, Natalie, Caitlin, Michael and Cristin.

Our ties goes back a long time and both Martin (dec) and myself have had a great respect and love for David.
He was a terrific guy and mentor to many.
We all shared in special day birthdays and it was great fun to have you share these times with us.
Going back to when we were Young. Your were around 25 and I was 47 and we had a very important conversation. Do you remember it was about you and David.
The outcome was beautiful plus 2 beautiful daughers as well and many years of a beautiful marriage.
I will always remember his handsome face and his beguiling smile. His laughter and goodwill to all he shared with so many.
