We had many memorable holidays at no. 8 Rockingham and now the sunset discussions on the balcony will never be the same. Not forgetting Friday night socials and the library visits after seniors. 1932 - 2021 A friendship spanning over 80 years. The sister I never had. The only kids on Heal Street in our pre-school days, neighbours in Avon Street. I'd wait for her mother to plait her hair before we walked to school. In the same class until she went to Albany High and I went to Aquinas. We secretly corresponded during those years unbeknown to the Christian Brothers as you didn't write to girls and all correspondence was censored before "sealed for postage" by the Brother in charge so it could be checked for spelling mistakes. In our hometown after education we played tennis, enjoyed growing up in an active, social and happy environment. Worked 5½ days, pictures one weekend and a dance the next, church, hockey and football on Sunday. We didn't need internet or TV. Love to Sherryl, Myles, Claudia, Tammy and families. From Cliff and the Boekeman family.
