One of 14 children to Sidney and Florence Newham and Snow Gregory 2 children.
Now with her beloved hubby, James ( Jim ) Alfred George Gillam who is one of 8 children.
A wonderful mum to Lynette and Garry, loving Nanna to; 8 Grandchildren, 9 Grt. Grandchildren, 9 Grt. Grt. Grandchildren.
A small entrepreneur, basketballer who played for Highgate Basketball Club (now East Perth Eagles), representing WA for many years as a player and State Team Manager and became the Assistant Manager for Australia's first Women's team.
A giving, caring, sharing, loving person. Worked hard all her life. Saw an opportunity and grasped it. Enjoyed her Church, St Edmunds and the Organ Club. Valued representing her brothers Tommy and Sidney at the El Alamein Annual Luncheons.
Loved watching her grandchildren play basketball and valued cooking a roast for the family on Monday Nights. Enjoyed her visits to the orchard, to Waroona, Bunbury and Albany. Assisted her husband Jim as a ‘caller' of Statistics for the Wildcat games.
An exceptional woman, friend, sibling, nanna, spouse and mum who will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
GILLAM:
The Funeral Service for Laura Gillam will be held at St Edmunds Anglican Church, 54 Pangbourne St, Wembley commencing at 9.30am on SATURDAY (4.11.2023). Morning tea will be provided.
