  • GAYFER ALICE MARY (MAIS) nee Hewett:

1926 - 2021 Loved Mum of Harry, Mother-in-law to Sue and Nan to Amber, Courtney, Aaron and families.

A true country woman who loved her life on the farm, giving us many fond memories at Coongan Downs. A long life happily spent devoted to Dad.

Mum, you will be missed very much.

    GAYFER

    Alice Mary (Mais):

Thank you Nan for all the childhood memories on the farm. You were always ready for us to tear through the yard, looking for good cubbyhouse spots, to sneak a bit of morning tea or pop over for piano practise. Much loved Grandmother and Great Grandmother.

Amber, Phil, Hamish, Charlie and Jamon.

    Alice Mary (Mais):

A much loved Nan who made the best scones in the world. Always ready with a hug and kiss.

'Catch you later' Love to Fafa, Dad, Aunty Lorraine and Aunty Glenda

    Love Courtney and Finn.

    Alice Mary (Mais):

Memories from when I was young, of visiting Nan at the big house on the farm, across the dam from us. Now, I'm lucky enough to call that house my own.

Nan remained interested in the farm throughout her life and enjoyed nothing better than a good chat with regular updates.

    Always a caring grandmother, Aaron.

The Wonder Years of Mais and Mick.... their living and loving, interrupted. She walked a mile with pleasure, she chatted all the way,

But left us none the wiser, for all she had to say.

We walk the miles with Sorrow and ne'er a word she says,

But Oh! The things we learnt from her, when Sorrow walks and has its Say!

Loved and admired. Rest peacefully. Courage and Sympathy to Mick and family.
