The family of Mary Firios, sadly announce the passing of their beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Born in Port Pirie, South Australia in 1924 to Dimitri and Garifalia Athanasou, Mary was the much loved wife of Leonidas (dec), 7th of 8 children, the late Chrissie, Arthur, Johnny, Katina, Tony, Mark and Leffie. Mother of Athena, Epaminondas and Chrisoula, grandmother (Yiayia) of Alex, Toula, Eleni, Andrea, Tiegan, Leon, Maryse, Louisa and Dimitri, great grandmother (Ally Yiayia) of Nicholas, Kostas, Michael, Harry and Mary.
Mary was also greatly loved by her sons-in-law Costas and Arthur, daughter-in-law Carolyn and grand sons-in-law George, Robin, Shane and Joe.
Our wonderful, generous, kind, loving, wise, interesting Mary, with her cheeky sense of humour and engaging personality, she will be greatly missed.
Mary was an inspiration and mentor and nurtured her family both spiritually and in many aspects of their lives.
May Mary rest in peace. She will be loved and remembered by all of us.
