FILMER Barry

Obituary Guest Book 13 Messages

FILMER (BARRY)

My dear, dear wonderful Barry. How can I say how much I am going to miss you? I married my best friend's (Erica) brother and since then life has been so different having someone who loved me unconditionally and looked after my children and grandchildren with complete dedication. Sitting with you and holding your hand while you kept telling me that you loved me in the last few days will never leave me. Keep comfortable and ready so we can meet again and talk, argue and laugh as we have always done. With more love than I can express, Chrissie.

Chrissie Filmer

FILMER (Barry):

Dear Dad, I am going to miss you so much. Over the past years of caring for your health at home seems like a just way to thank you for the years you looked after me since I was 11 years old. Having you as a Dad gave me strength and stability for which I will always be thankful. Looking after you over the past 10 years gave me the chance to return some of the gifts you gave and allowed me to have a close relationship with you that returned me even more treasures to keep.

Rest in peace Dad remember me while I remember you.

Pia Pantelis
FILMER (Barry):

Our beloved Dad and Father-In-Law, we are deeply saddened by your passing and words cannot describe the great loss we are feeling at this time. You were the best Dad we could have asked for, a Dad who gave us his all, working so hard to create our wonderful life. Memories of your dedication to our family and helping to raise our children, will forever be in our hearts. Together with Mum, you worked tirelessly to make every single family gathering so special. Our children were blessed with a wonderful Pappou Panayioti who was always there for them, and will continue to be in spirit. You endured hardships in health towards the end but never complained and met every day with a smile. Sleep peacefully Dad in God's care. Your loving daughter Stacey, and son-in-law Greg Doucas.

FILMER (Barry):

It is difficult to summarise the feelings of someone who has meant so much to our lives over the past 55 years. We have sadness to have lost you Dad, but we have overwhelming joy because we were lucky to have you in our lives when it mattered. Thanks for taking over the care of Mum and my siblings when you entered our lives. From that time to now you dedicated yourself to be a part of the extended family, loving Mum and making sure Sava, Stacey and Pia were cared for, in the most relaxed and understated way possible. You gathered a legion of admirers within the family, friends, and the Greek community. You loved all in the immediate family, and then Anita and all the Doucas family became your own without a second thought. Thanking you does not seem quite enough; however, you will say in your no fuss way, that it is more than you deserve.

We will miss you so much. Sava (Steve) and Anita Filmer

FILMER (Barry):

I am missing you, my beautiful father-in-law; you are always present in my mind. I lean on the gifts of kindness, consistency, and strength you gave.

Anita Verne-Filmer

FILMER (Barry):

Whilst your passing has been devastating we are so lucky to have so many fond memories to look back on. I can never thank you enough Pop for all your love, strength, support and guidance over the years. You will be sorely missed.

Love always, your granddaughter Elisia, and Matthew Taborsky.

FILMER (Barry):

I will miss the fun times playing with you at your house and getting up to mischief. You were a wonderful big Pop and I am so proud to carry your name. Love always your great-grandson Alexander Barry Taborsky.

FILMER (Barry):

We part with our beloved grandfather, our Pop, with great sadness. The cherished memories we hold dear of his time with us will remain in our hearts, always. Being a part of my life through the daily moments of soccer practice and school collections, the big events of graduations, and all the many experiences of life shared in between, is a kindness I forever will be grateful for. Listening intently to the stories of your past journeys, your wisdom, are lessons that have helped shape me to be the person I am today. A life well lived with purpose, family and joy. Rest in peace Pappou Barry. Your loving grandson, Basil Doucas.

FILMER (Barry):

We are heartbroken at the loss of our loving and caring grandfather, and great-grandfather. The most dedicated Pappou we will ever know.

School pick-ups, sport carnivals, homework help, graduations, kneading the dough for koulous, a shared love of working as a chef, wedding dances, welcoming our two boys into the world and watching them grow, are everlasting memories in our hearts of your selfless devotion to us. Thank you Pop for all that you have done for our family in your amazing life, we are forever grateful. We will miss you every day. Love always, your granddaughter Christine, and Nicola Di Pietro.

FILMER (Barry):

To our dear Big Pop, we are so very sorry our playtime has come to an end, but know you are in a better place now with no more boowa's and taken care of by Ayios. We will remember your smile made of sunshine, heart of solid gold and eyes as bright as shining stars. Thank you for helping to raise our Mummy, because of you she has learnt patience and a caring nature that will enrich our lives as we grow up from the little boys you once knew into men that would have been your best mates. We promise that Gregory will keep singing your song a sixpence, Nicholas will carry on your name Barry with pride and together we will always make Big Yiayia smile as much as you did.

Kalinixta Big Pop. Love always and forever in our hearts, bedtime prayers and stories, your great-grandsons, Gregory and Nicholas Di Pietro.

FILMER (Barry):

To our dear Pop, you were a selfless and loving grandfather who played a huge part in our lives. You were always there for Jac growing up taking her to school, ballet, choir rehearsals, kumon and were a father figure to her. To Lui you were always so respectful and welcomed him into the family with open arms. You never had a worry in the world, had one of the kindest souls and your presence and smile will be greatly missed. Your love for cake, food, sports and your homemade fried rice will never be forgotten. May you now rest peacefully. Love always, your granddaughter Jacqueline, and Luigi Bellantoni.
