DOWLEY GRAHAM 29.5.1941 - 3.11.2019 Graham died peacefully at home, and is now with his Lord and Saviour.

Dearly loved and loving husband of Alison, father of Peter, Ian, Mark and Robin, and father-in-law of Maree, Carolyn, Alana and Kim. Devoted and proud Grandad of Owen and Liam; Ellen, Cáit and Kelsie; Ethan, Shay and Grace; and Lucas, Toren and Sasha.

Our grief is real, but the love and memories will live on of a man who was steadfast, courageous and uncomplaining, generous, unassuming and kind, creative and fun-loving. Maybe he will paint gardens in heaven!

  • DOWLEY (Graham):

Great memories of laughing at some stories Graham and Alison told in church, hearing his clear voice singing descants during worship, praying together. And visiting their amazing garden at Duncraig, pulling weeds always 😊

Graham was a wise and wonderful friend. We will miss him.

From 1969 to 1973 I taught with Graham at City Beach Senior High School, where he was the Science Master. For Christian teachers like us, this was a very challenging time of transition. We were allowed to organize occasional seminars, to which ministers of religion would be invited to lead groups or give other input. I have very fond memories of those occasions. It was always a pleasure to work with Graham in preparing the materials and conducting the seminars. We were able to see some interesting situations, in which several of the local nuns had some very valuable input. (Vatican 2 Council had concluded only in 1965, giving them a new freedom to work with other branches of the Christian church.)
