Peter and I never met, but I considered him a good friend as he gave me insights on the land down under and I did the same about my expat life in Korea. I was always honored to call him "mate." He lived to be 79! He had a family that truly loved him, he made contributions to the world and was a good man. This was a life well lived.

Although we had never met PeeDee and I maintained an internet friendship for 20 years. A truly delightful and kind man who will be hugely missed. He was especially kind to my son Benji and wife Reet when they emigrated to Australia in 2010. This is a sad time indeed. My deepest condolences go out to Gale and their lovely family from all of us in Wales and Brisbane.

I lost a best friend when Peter died. Others have spoken of his generosity, kindness, his caring nature, and loyalty. He was all of these things and more. Peter and I shared an interest in family history, and even though we were unable to prove a family connection we connected in other ways. He was a man of strength and character with a fine sense of self-deprecating humour. I’ll miss his many e-letters and phone calls. Thank you Cuz for enriching my life.

Sincere condolences to Gale, Luke, Andrew, Toby and family.

Sincere condolences to Gale and family on the passing of Peter. Pete was an absolute gentleman, loyal friend and inspiration to so many. He was always more interested in talking about others than himself.

No more insightful emails to look forward to, especially reflections of working in the old Barracks in the 60’s.

    He will be sadly missed.
