To Carmel, Jannelle, Anita, Alyce and families my heartfelt condolences go out to you.

Barrie, the most respected man I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and knowing, you were an inspiration to me. No matter where we were or what we were doing our chats were like we were in the same room. I was privileged to be able to call you a mate, and will miss the times we had together.

    Rest in Peace big brother.

    (BARRIE)

Barrie, my life, you have left me with a heart that has been broken into millions of pieces, and now that you have gone, I can't get my head around how I'm going to go on without you. Our 44 years together have been the best years of my life. You have had to endure a lot in this time with your health, but our love for each other and faith in the Lord got us through. But this time it wasn't enough and the Lord said it was time. You have been my voice of reason and when I would get upset or frightened, you would put me back on track with your positive attitude and everything would be fixed. Our beautiful daughters Janelle, Anita and Alyce will always remind me of you, the love you have for them is immeasurable. Your love also extends to our grandchildren Harry and Ivy, our new arrival shortly, and Jaime and Rhys. I can't believe how blessed I was that the Lord sent me a man that would love and cherish me the way you did, and how you would call me darling like only you could. You were my soulmate, and I could talk to you about anything and everything. Your ability to talk to anyone on every level is what I also loved about you and you were loved and respected by everyone. So now it is time to part for a while until we meet, but in the meantime walk by my side and whisper in my ear when I need that voice of reason to deal with whatever. It comforts me to know that you are now in the arms of your Mum and Dad and your family, together with my Mum and Dad and Brothers. I only wish those arms were mine to hold you. Barrie, spread those big wings and fly high, carefree and no more pain. Go catch that big fish that always got away. I will love you in heaven as I did on earth.

    Your darling forever, Carmel

    CONWAY-MORTIMER (Barrie):

To our Dad, the strongest man we know. Most people wouldn't go through what you did. Most people couldn't. It takes a special man to defy the odds. There are no words that we could ever write to describe the Dad you have been to us, and how much we will miss you. You made your borrowed years our best. Your loyalty, bravery, courage and integrity are qualities that have inspired us to be who we are. You taught us to be leaders, and to always reach for the stars. Always one of a kind, there will be no one like you. Your legend will live on in the memories we have, the stories we tell and the cheesecakes we eat. You taught us that family is everything, and we will make sure your Grandkids grow up to know what a wonderful man their Nonno was. It is now time for us to practice the strength you have taught us, and the positivity you have shown us. Now all the fish are yours. There are unlimited cups of tea. And yes, someone is up getting ice-cream.

Love always, Janelle, Anita and Alyce

    CONWAY-MORTIMER (Barrie):

Dear Nonno, I loved fishing with you and sitting in the boat with you. I will always remember how tall and brave you are. I loved eating jubes with you, especially when mum didn't know! Love Harry.

    CONWAY-MORTIMER (Barrie):

Dear Nonno, I love spending time with you and I love spending great times and Christmases with you. I love that you are tough and brave and such a kind person. I love eating ‘Nonno Chippies' with you. Love you forever Nonno, love your ‘Idy' (Ivy).
