Debra brightened up our quilt group meetings (PMQG) as she was such a beautiful person with a lovely sense of humour. She was taken far too soon. My condolences to all of her loved ones.

  • CARTER (Debra):

Deb’s aspirations for her family, students and community were easily transposed into inspirations for those she shared her personal and professional time and life with.

Deb’s support and friendship during our time in Cunderdin will always be appreciated and remembered.

Dave and I have such happy memories of time spent with Deb, and especially her hospitality and lovely home cooked meals when we stayed in Perth for 3 weeks in 2012. She was so welcoming and knowledgeable in helping us make the most of our time in WA, and we enjoyed Deb and Alan both coming to visit us in Chester a year or so later. The picture was taken at a rural pub in Cheshire during the visit. Rest In Peace Deb, we are thinking of you and the entire family. All our love, Sarah and Dave Crosbie

Early memories of Sunday School, using sign language to talk in church, teenage secrets, sleepovers, cooking together (still can taste the Gem scones you taught me to make Deb). Your Sense of humour, your ability to tell a story, your conscientiousness, your beautiful patchwork, the last jar of Cumquat marmalade you gave me. Your love for your family, above all your courage to face your illness with dignity and faith. Safe and fully whole now my friend and our bridesmaid. Our hearts ache for you all Cairns and Carter families. Love Willi and Garry

Deb was a gifted teacher, highly respected by her students, colleagues and parents.

We recently reflected on her many talents in the arts, crafts and music - everyone so greatly enjoyed her classes and the choirs at Cunderdin DHS.

An awesome woman ........... gracious and courageous till the end!

Delphine and I have many happy memories of your visit to England with Alan, Lachlan and Dorothy, punting at Cambridge, when you showed us around Perth and introduced us to your family during our visit to Perth nearly two years ago. All our love to you, Alan, Courtney,  Lachlan and all your family.

Jan and I (Derek) were shocked and sad to hear that Debra had passed away, we had no idea she was so ill with MND.

We only met Debra and Alan once when they visited the UK some years ago. We met at the Eden Project in Cornwall. We kept in touch through FaceBook. The last message from Debra was only a couple of weeks ago - ‘Music Busted’ - a couple dancing on a floor piano. A delightful video, it could be a tribute to her.

Our sincere condolences to Alan, Dorothy and family.
