  • BUNYAN (Jeanne):

Jeanne had time to those who needed help. Giving neighbours lifts to specialists, doctors etc when the neighbour was unable to drive themselves.

Jeanne cared for Aunty Gladys Curven, 99,  visiting her twice a week. Jeanne regularly drove to Busselton to visit her mother’s cousin Hazel, 99 yo, to keep her company and help where she could.

Jeanne, like Molly, visited my parents to see if all was well. Jeanne gave my mother her old car, record player, beautiful neglige and gown etc and her clothes to me. They were beautiful. Mum and Dad loved her and dad would say Jeanne is a good sport.

As a young girl I remember picnic lunches on the banks of the Swan under the paperbark trees not far from either her or my house.

Friend and colleague. I first met Jeanne in 1969 at NGAL-A again in 1972 at SJOG Subi and then we worked together as inaugural Charge Sisters at Attadale Hospital for Women (of happy memory!). Jeanne was an exemplary nurse, a devoted wife and mother and very kind friend. She had a great sense of humour and introduced me to the joys of horse racing, and she had many wise words for me as a newly wed. She will always be bright in my memory. Sympathy to all her family who will miss her so much. May she Rest in Peace and may God bless her family. Rosemary Lorrimar.
