BLACKIE KEN All the members of Whitfords Volunteer Sea Rescue Group (WVSRG) wish to extend to Lyn and the family their deepest sympathy and may he rest in peace.
Ken was one of the original founding members of WVSRG in the 70's and was fundamental in the growth of the group from a small group of local people in 1972 using their own boats to what WVSRG is today.
Ken held the position of Commander and was a skipper. With over 45 years of service, he had been involved in countless rescues, recoveries, missing boat/people searches, boat assistance calls, capsizes and transfer of people in distress to areas of safety.
In 2019 our new Rescue Vessel was named in honour of Ken, for his tireless efforts and work within the Group.
RIP Ken. Whitfords Volunteer Sea Rescue Group: VJ6LQ.
