MARJORIE ANNE After a brief illness our beloved Anne passed away at home in her sleep on 4 September. Daughter of Roma and John Maxwell (deceased); wife of Rees; mother of Benjamin, Laura and Lincoln; mother-in-law of Charanjit, Corey and Lauren; grandmother of John, Tess and Anna, Nyomi and Isla.
She had the greatest gift of all - to give love and receive love in return.

BARRETT (Anne):
ANZAC Day was always special for you, Anne. You were so proud of your Dad and Mum for their courage in the Second World War. Your father John was a rear gunner in the Lancasters of Bomber Command. Sole survivor of a crash landing, he was awarded the DFC. Your Mum understood the risks, waiting anxiously for his return. We remember the many ANZAC marches that you proudly wore John's medals. "I'm not glorifying war, but honouring their courage," you would tell us. We will always remember.

BARRETT (Anne):
Our first Easter without you approaches, darling. Sadness for the gap you have left is deepened but the memories of all those family celebrations to which you were so central also fills us with gratitude. We thank Forever Oneness for your life - lived with Christ's values. Our love forever, Rees and Family.

BARRETT (Anne):
My beautiful Annie Maxwell.
Will you still be my Valentine?
-
BARRETT (Anne):
Darling Annie, your birthday brings back so many sweet and joyful memories. This year we remember three decades ago when you decided it was time to jump out of a plane. Your Dad thought you were crazy, others went along for the ride. You lived a life filled with adventure and compassion. We love and miss you in so many ways. Rees and Family

BARRETT (Anne):
Mum, on this day, your 74th birthday, we are fondly remembering you. Our thoughts are underscored with sadness that you are not here with us to celebrate 'another year around the sun,' but this sadness is lifted by the abundance of joyful memories filled with laughter, light and love.
Happy birthday Mum!
Love always,
Lincoln, Lauren, Nyomi and Isla

Remembering you, sweetheart, as the New Year begins. Remember the wonderful family picnics you used to organize? Your joy is so apparent in this pic from early 1999 at the Adventure Playground in Kings Park. We miss you so much, but know you expect us to go on living our lives to the full.
Loved you then, love you still.
Always have, always will.
Rees, Benjamin, Laura, Lincoln and families

BARRETT (Anne):
When I look at you darling, here’s what I see.
Toddler plays on a beach happy and free.
Child of ten with loving father and mother
building family legends with sister and brother.
Young woman now eighteen with wings on her feet
dreaming of life’s love whom she’ll soon meet.
A bride soon at twenty whose heart gives a leap,
remembering the vows she promised to keep.
At twenty-five now with babe of her own
time to travel the world before building her home.
A woman of thirty, three youngsters in tow
bound to each other with ties that will grow.
At forty, new career makes her heart sing.
Now fifty, her children all doing their ‘thing’.
She’s carefree again, although empty nester
adventures beckon as the world is her oyster.
At sixty, again babies fill her with joy.
Grandchildren to nurture, four girls and a boy.
Now seventy-one, always loving and giving.
Hard of hearing maybe but rejoicing in living.

On behalf of the Achievers Club Board, students and their families, members and volunteers, our deepest sympathy to Rees and family. Rees, please know that we are here for you . We also thank Anne for her loving service to our students, particularly Asiah.
Anne’s smile and care was so infectious and will be remembered for a long time. The great Nelson Mandela once said: “There can be no greater gift than that of giving one’s time and energy to help others without expecting anything in return”. Anne lived her whole life this way.
