What can I say my old friend, the world was a better place while you were in it. I was a young man when we met and you left a massive, positive, long term imprint on my life. Rest in peace Jack! Sending my thoughts and love to your family, Eddie (RP Sect 3RAR 1978-79)

Jack was a big man with a big heart, a true friend and a fine example of what it means to be a good human being. I will miss his humour, it never changed even in bad times. God bless you Jack for being amongst us and allowing me to be your friend and green brother.

Jack “Babs” Babbage, I knew him whilst posted to 3 RAR Woodside in 1973.

Babs was going out with my sister for a while.
