ALBERT STEPHEN Sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family of Stephen 'Baamba' Albert, a legendary figure in WA's arts and culture landscape. Born and raised in Broome, Stephen was a much-loved entertainer and community leader. He is well known for starring in iconic WA musicals Bran Nue Dae and Corrugation Road and through his band The Broome Beats. Stephen was instrumental in establishing Goolarri Media and the National Aboriginal Education Committee and was a pioneer in the walking trails industry in the Kimberley. He will be greatly missed.
