    17/12/1936 - 30/09/2019

A loving grandmother for 25 years.

A keen gardener your creation at Bombard Street will be one of your lasting legacies. You researched extensively if it be books, the staff at Waldecks Melville who would take you thoroughly through the nursery and then load all your purchases into the car or those slightly annoying American voices on YouTube that used to fill the house.

An excellent cook. I can’t recall a meal that was not truly scrumptious. A perpetual sweety lover I remember you referring to yourself as Sister Monica Joan from Call The Midwife. “Could find sugar in a salt hill”.

A music lover your eclectic taste was amazing and rather attuned to my own. If it be Bach, Roy Orbison, Gospel music, the standards of Cole Porter or to Adele. Many late nights were had, sitting up watching opera on YouTube. From memory the last time was Puccini’s Madama Butterfly.

You are loved and in return, you loved us back a hundred fold. Your passing was sudden but albeit peaceful. You left us in a way most hope and pray for, in your own home and in your own bed.

I shall never forget in the last few years, though plagued by ill health, whenever the ambulance was called you would say to me before leaving. “If anything happens, know that I am ready”. Then you would send one of the paramedics to remind me not to forget to water the pots.

    Requiescat in pace Gran.

See you on that mansion over the hilltop.

    Vee xx

“ No more night. No more pain

No more tears. Never crying again

And praises to the great "I AM."

We will live in the light of the risen Lamb “
