Beautiful Papa. My heart breaks every day, we have just had the most difficult year of our lives and I still can't accept you are gone, I don't think I ever will. It has been so hard not having you here. Your love, strength, wisdom and generosity. Talking to you for hours, sending you pictures of the ocean sunsets every night. Resting your head on my shoulder when you were to weak to sit alone. Giving you your favourite food fresh from my garden, pears, persimmons and mangoes you grew so proudly and your beloved pig trotters. Sitting up at night with you when you couldn't sleep. You were so brave and so ill but I would do it all again to have you back. I know we'll see you again.

Nonno, it's been one long year since you left us. Your the strongest, bravest, most loving and wise man and our lives are so much better for having known you. Your wisdom guided us, your love warmed us and your generosity beyond words. Nonno, words cannot say how much we miss you. We carry you in our hearts every day.
