Maureen I think of you every day
The pain it never goes away.
I try not to always think too deep
Because when I do, tears I weep.
I keep your photos all in place
So each day I see your beautiful face.
When I softly talk to you at night
I long to just squeeze you tight.
I wish I could at least pick up the phone
And hear your comforting 'Mauz' tone.
I have so many memories - mine forever
But how I wish we were still here together.
We all miss you every day
In oh so many different ways.
On special occasions I burn your candle bright
Your face lights up and makes things right.
Different problems come my way
And I think to myself, "What would Mauz say?"
I miss you Mauz, life will never be the same
But on I soldier, trying to hide my pain.
Look down on us from high up there
And please keep us safe with your love and care.
