Dearly loved 2nd son of Edith (nee Hutton). Loved brother of Joan and brother-in-law of Sgt W. Nagel KIA 9.12.1941. Loved nephew of Pte E. Hutton KIA Passchendaele 13.10.1917. Respected goldfields prospector and soldier.
Served: Tobruk, El Alamein, Ruin Ridge, Milne Bay, Labulan, Borneo, New Guinea, Bouganville. No 'gong' for volunteer recce of Ruin Ridge minefields. His life of relentless adversity was never shirked. Died from uninvestigated gunshot wounds 25.10.1948 following his discovery of a significant gold deposit and assay. Forever missed by his mother and sister (both dec). Lovingly remembered by niece Anne Tollefsen.
