Thinking of Jenna, Connor, Annie, Murray, Christine, Betsy, Anna, family, friends and everyone you touched with your sharp mind, warm heart and infectious spirit. Today, we planted seedlings in a spot in our yard now named Ben's Garden. And as I thought of you with a heavy heart, a gentle wind rustled the trees and I whispered goodbye. Forever missed, forever remembered. xx Katherine Tate and Dimitri

    Heartbroken and in disbelief.

We met in year 1 at Nedlands Primary. My best mate ever since and the closest thing I had to a brother. So many happy memories in Australia and here in Scotland.

You’ll be missed so much mate. Rest in peace.

    Ben,

We’ve watched you grow from a crazy Ninja turtle; Master of Monty dog's tricks; cool hero to Tom for standing in at Father/Son breakfasts; to a smart, sensitive man with so much to offer. Not least you became a loving husband and Dad. You were always up for a good debate while at the same time making us laugh. You will always be loved and remembered as part of our family.

To Christine, Murray, Anna, Betsy and Jenna - your pain is unimaginable and we send all our love. Your darling Ben will never be forgotten.

  • WESTPHAL BEN Our darling son. Such a talent, such a presence, so smart and so loving. You loved a good debate. You were brilliant at work and a huge achiever. We are so very proud of you.

Now we wake up and you're no longer with us. We never know when the pain of losing you will grip our hearts as you are everywhere. You were gone in an instant but it will take our lifetime to grieve your loss.

Your presence will be missed forever but you will live on in Connor and Annie.

Your place is set at the dinner table darling boy. Rest peacefully now. Words cannot describe how much we love you. Mum and Dad xx

  • WESTPHAL BEN My darling brother Ben,

I still can't believe you are gone. Life is not as it should be, and it will never be the same again. It breaks my heart that I won't speak to you again, laugh with you, or hug you.

I'll never forget your wicked sense of humour, your intelligence, and your care for those you loved. You truly were the best big brother and I was so proud you were mine. A day won't go by where I won't miss you with all my heart.

We will make sure Connor and Annie will always know how amazing their dad was and how much you loved them.

Rest peacefully now my best buddy ... I love you more than you'll ever know.

    Anna xx

  • WESTPHAL BEN My big brother. My best friend. For 31 years I have looked up to you, laughed with you, bickered with you and loved you.

You were so loving, smart and hilarious. You were the most wonderful brother and I was so incredibly proud of you.

So many years of memories. So many stories to share with Connor and Annie.

I can't believe we won't laugh together again, go down south or have a family dinner. I can't believe you won't call me again. Our hearts are broken. Goodbye my darling brother, I love you forever.
