Happy memories of my dear sister who left us suddenly on 3.1.2020. We had lost our father so all 6 of us had to assist Mum in running the farm so I remember my sister clearly and her patience when she had to bathe me as a mere tot every evening with me always resisting. Then she went away and much later I found she had gone to attend Perth Girls School in Wellington St in Perth, also the Stanley School of Dressmaking where I believe she learnt a variety of crafts. Then she found work at a women's dress shop in Hay St. However, she returned when we moved to the Hunt Rd house in town where the chimney frequently and spectacularly caught fire in winter - then we moved to Dawson St from where she married and went to live on a farm in Morbinning. There she had a very busy and varied life bringing up 5 children, feeding hungry shearers, assisting with farm work - sometimes having to drag heavy sheep around and also keeping a virtual chicken farm to sell eggs. She grew vegetables, she knitted and sewed in the evenings and was always cooking for family in a primitive farmhouse kitchen. Beryl was a long time member of the CWA, did sewing and craft tutoring and undoubtedly many other activities. After returning to town she continued her work with various organisations, playing lawn bowls and enjoying playing cards on a Saturday afternoon.

We went on holidays with June and also several cruises which we three sisters all enjoyed tremendously.

Tragedy shattered her life but ultimately she was able to carry on. My very deepest sympathy to her loving family for whom she cared greatly.

Special thanks to Glenys who has taken wonderful care of Beryl over many years.

A life well lived. Will be remembered always.

Pat, Susanne, Christopher, Ann-Maree and families.
