19.10.1933 — 21.04.2019 Married to Gillian Bailey (nee Smith). To my Dapper Dad you slowly passed away with Mum and I at your side, this illness robbed you of everything you loved doing, leaving you just sitting around, something you detested most of all. Always smiling, never complaining, willing to help out when needed, thank you for being the dad you were. Reunited with Nana and Granpa. Dad, Granpa and Great-Granpa.

    Love Amanda and Gary xxx

  • PEET GEORGE On Easter Sunday the state lost one of its greatest foresters, and the Peets lost a loving father and husband. Now released to enjoy his fishing, canoeing and a beer in the bush beyond, but greatly missed nonetheless. Much love from daughter Jess, and Todd, Jonathan, Daniel and Laura Brittain xxx

  • PEET GEORGE It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of George Peet.

He was a legendary Western Australian forester and an early pioneer in the field of bushfire science and aerial prescribed burning in this state. His work leaves a significant and enduring legacy for forest management and community protection.

On behalf of the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions I wish to extend our deepest sympathy to his wife Gillian and all members of the Peet family.

GEORGE A tribute to George, a West Australian pioneer in fire behaviour, aerial burning and production of the first tables and burning guides for WA forests. He oversaw the development of the finest bushfire management system in the world at the time. Although a demanding officer who insisted on the highest of standards, off the job he was an all round good bloke. An inaugural member of the Bushfire Front he will long be remembered.
