Many wonderful memories of a dedicated compassionate doctor whose priority was patient care. Originally under your care when I transferred from PMH in 1988 you admitted CF wasn't your forte and transferred me to the CF team. However, you always asked how I was and always had time for a chat. Your wicked sense of humour and presence will never be forgotten at Respiratory Medicine SCGH.

Professor Bill Musk was our consultant in b block in 1983.  He was a gentle man, I was so privileged to have worked with him as a CN permanent night duty. RIP

I remember Bill and his family well from our days as neighbours in Wharf St, Queens Park.

His mother Jean was an advocate for higher education and "Mrs Musk" as we called her and my mother Marjorie had many conversations about its importance.

I remember the kindness that was shown to us when we visited the "nice house next door".

Catching up online now with Bill's achievements has brought a flood of memories of him and his family.

MUSK BILL Bill was a life member of the Busselton Population Medical Research Institute. He was associated with the survey since it's inception in 1966 and worked tirelessly to champion the importance of the Busselton Health Study.

We have lost a caring respiratory physician, great mentor, leading researcher and friend.

It is with heavy hearts that we acknowledge the passing of our beloved Specialist, Professor Bill Musk AM. Prof Musk has been a friend to the ADSA and its members for almost 40 years. He was committed to Public Health and the role it must play in protecting the lives of all Australians. While big business tried to cover up and hope those exposed to deadly asbestos fibre in Wittenoom would be forgotten, Prof Musk pioneered research into Asbestos Diseases and donated countless hours working with sufferers and their families. Rest in Peace Bill, you will be remembered as a hero, friend, leader and compassionate Doctor who valued all humanity. Heartfelt sympathy to Criena and all the family. Professor Bill Musk was a strong advocate for many years to improve the services and treatment for patients with lung disease. He also energetically supported treatment of those who have suffered from exposure to asbestos and research into their illnesses. After retirement he continued to provide such support, and his influence lives on.
