For no apparent reason I thought of Brian today and did a Google search and found that he has just passed away. Brian was my honours supervisor in 1979 and he was a wonderful and patient mentor. His skills certainly set me on my microbiology career and I have very fond memories of the time we worked together. Unfortunately, as we now live in Sydney, we are unable to attend the memorial service but our sympathy and best wishes are with you. John and Karen Shannahan.
Janine and I are thinking of you at this sad time of loss and our thoughts and prayers are with you. We fondly remember Brian as a gracious, humble man of great intellect and good sense of humour.

Sue, we are thinking of you at this difficult time. May God give you the strength to get through all this. He (Brian) was a quiet gentle man and was always by your side. A true gentleman. A pleasure to have known him.
Our thoughts and best wishes are with you. Brian was a true gentleman in every sense of the word and it was a pleasure to know him in our days at UWA and then in Denmark. He will be missed by all those who had the privilege to work with him and know him. Please accept our very sincere sympathy.

MEE BRIAN JOHN 06.04.1940 - 08.08.2019
Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Devoted and treasured husband of Sue, loving and much loved father and father-in-law of Marguerite, John and Sharon, Peter and Chelle. Adored big brother of Maureen, Joan and Ron. Cherished grandfather of Skye, Cassandra, Harriet and Louisa. A shining light to his extended family on the east coast.
Brian was a humble and gentle man with a sharp intellect and a wry sense of humour. He was an inspiring mentor to colleagues and students, and a passionate and astute bridge player who generously shared his extensive knowledge and experience. He endured many years of illness with great courage, patience and dignity.
Brian was a respected and much loved member of the Denmark community and we are grateful for their friendship and support over the past 13 years.
Sincere thanks to Doctors Prathalingam and Faulkner, Neurology Nurse Tania Hughes and all the caring staff at Denmark Hospital.
In lieu of flowers please send donations to Parkinsons W.A. Funeral details to be advised.
Respected colleague and friend. Deepest sympathy to Sue and family.
