It is with great sadness that I must say goodbye to my beloved Husband of 63 years. We have shared a wonderful life together with our loving family, friends, tennis and travel. Words can not describe how much I will miss you, my dearest Alan.

    Your loving Wife, Mary

    HICKS (Alan Robert) OAM:

It is with much sadness that we say farewell to our darling Dad, handsome Grandad and cheeky Al Pal. You have always been the light in our lives as you have quietly and humbly achieved so much with such caring humour and dignity. As Head of our Family, you have inspired us all with your loyalty and love which has made us feel so safe, proud and privileged. The world is going to be in a poorer place without you and although you'll be missed so much, we will always remember your beautiful smile and the special happiness, fun, laughter and love you have given and shared with Mum and all of us. Thank you Al Pal. Love from Kerry and Peter, Megan, Karl and Angus, Brad, Rhiannon, Macie, Sienna and Paterson

    HICKS (Alan Robert) OAM:

He was a great Father, Grandad and friend to us all. We will miss his kindness, enthusiasm and guidance. A great life lived. Thanks for the memories Gary, Brontie, Stephanie and Keegan, Brenton, Austin and Taylor

He was pivotal in moving tennis forward toward a more professional management model and was instrumental in the development of the current State Tennis Centre site. Thanks to Alan's enduring legacy, tennis in WA is thriving.
