DAVIS (Fred):
Eulogy by Keith Davis (for Fred Davis 14 Nov 22)
If Dad could send a postcard from heaven, I believe it would say...
A postcard From Heaven
My dearest Pat, the Boys and Grandies,
Having a great time up here, catching up and partying hard with all our dear friends who've passed.
You should see my dance moves in my new heavenly body, and thanks to Parkinsong I can now sing like a Tenor.
Sorry I left you all so suddenly, as I was carried to heaven on the wings of a beautiful Monarch butterfly.
When I arrived and knocked on the pearly gates of heaven, a familiar voice rang out "who's there?"
I couldn't help myself and replied "it's the plumber, I've come to fix your pipes!".
The familiar voice was my Mum who replied "is that you Fred!", as she welcomed me with open arms.
I cannot thank you enough Pat and Paul for your dedication in caring for me so intensely and with so much love, but my earthly body was so broken and exhausted, it was time to go.
My dearest Pat, be kind to yourself, knowing that I am happily resting in peace and looking down on you always, I'll be in your heart forever.
Time will heal your pain and grief, my parting wish is that you embrace life to the fullest and be as happy as you can be watching our grandkids grow into amazing adults.
My Journey’s Just Begun
Don't think of me as gone away, my journey's just begun.
Life holds so many facets, this earth is but one.
Just think of me as resting, from the sorrows and the tears.
In a place of warmth and comfort, where there are no days and years.
Think of how I must be wishing, that you could know today.
How nothing but your sadness, can really go away.
And think of me as living, in the hearts of those I touched.
For nothing loved is ever lost, and I know I was loved so much.
Your ever loving Fred, Dad and Grandad, kisses and hugs to all.
PS. Don't forget how I love a grand entrance!
Cheers Dad, it's only fitting I shout you one last beer, as I fondly remember you shouting my very first beer, at The Glengarry pub so many years ago, after picking me up from a cadet camp whilst I was still dressed and painted in full army camouflage, cheers Dad, love you forever!
