COWPER-SMITH (Joseph):

I’m not sure if this is my old school mate Joe Cowper-Smith from Eltham in South East London. We lost touch after our school days at Shooters Hill Grammar School when Joe went to Australia. I do remember our many escapades whilst at school and the many laughs we had back in the day around Eltham and whilst we were in the Air Training Corps. In fact I still clearly remember the day we went to London for me to get a job with a shipping and forwarding agent and Joe to enrol at a hairdressing college. I fondly remember him and those days. If this is not my mate Joe then please excuse my blundering into your sad loss.

COWPER-SMITH JOSEPH 5.07.1944 - 13.09.2019 Died peacefully at home after a long illness.

On Friday I lost my best mate, my mentor, my confidant and my Dad. He fought the good fight with courage and determination! He was an exceptionally learned man, a true gentleman! He was indeed an exception to the rule! You will be forever in my heart, lost but never forgotten. I love you mate. Rest in Peace Your Loving Son Nicholas

COWPER-SMITH JOSEPH 1944 - 2019 Our Joe will be remembered for his charming and charismatic personality which we treasured. He made a lasting impression and touched our lives with his infinite wisdom, knowledge and advice. He will be dearly missed and his essence and spirit will live on in our hearts always.
