  • CATENA SARAH

    (NEE GRINCERI)

Born 26.6.1932 Perth, Western Australia. Passed away at home on 10.1.2020 surrounded by her loving children. Beloved daughter of Antonino and Carmela Grinceri and sister of Albert, Tony, Joe, Jim, Nancy, John (all dec) and Mary. Loved wife of Adriano (Sam) (dec), loving and adored Mother of Maria, Adriana, Joe, Toni, Robert, Patrick and Stephen. Loved and respected Mother-in-law of Adrian Poropat, Katie and Rosi. Much loved Nonna of Carla and Daniel Pastorelli, Joseph Poropat and Monieka, Sarah, Claudia, Ariana, Alyssa, Olivia and Zara.

A life richly blessed with family and friends. She will be remembered with immense love and will never ever be forgotten.

    CATENA (Sarah):

My beautiful Mum, life will not be the same without you. The Catena chain has now been broken. You were my rock, always there for me, loving, kind, supportive and ready with advice if needed. I was blessed to have you as my mum. I will miss you so much and cherish all the memories we shared together. Rest peacefully in God's care, together with Dad again. Your loving daughter Maria.

    CATENA (Sarah):

Precious and loved mother of Adriana and Adrian Poropat, Nonna of Carla and Daniel Pastorelli, Joseph and Monieka. Dear Mum, your life was filled with love for your family and many friends, the door of your home open to everyone, anytime. You taught us to be compassionate and kind and to rely on our faith at all times. Your wisdom and way of seeing only the good in everyone and everything will never be forgotten. We thank you for your unending support and guidance as nothing was ever too much for you. I'm going to miss my sleepovers, thank you for the privilege of being with you on those nights. I'll treasure these times in my heart forever. Even as you struggled you never complained, your heart only filled with gratitude. Mum to help care for you was an honour. Beautiful Mum, you left us everlasting memories, your love is still our guide, and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Rest in eternal peace reunited with our beloved Dad.

Love and miss you forever, Adriana and Adrian.

    CATENA (Sarah):

Mum, no words are adequate to thank you for being my Mum. Thank you for loving me, caring for me, supporting me and always being there for me. I will miss your daily visits and chats. Rest peacefully with Dad until we meet again one day.

    Your loving son Joe.

    CATENA (Sarah):

Mum a remarkable woman is what you are, shining like the brightest star. You made the world a better place, always taking time to show loved ones how much you cared. A kind heart and tender words you had for all. Life will never be the same without you. Mum a remarkable woman is what you are. Sleep peacefully. Love you, your daughter Toni.

    CATENA (Sarah):

Dearly loved and respected Mum of Roberto, Mother-in-law to Katie and Nonna to Alyssa, Olivia and Zara.

My beautiful Mum, you lived your life with dignity and grace, compassion and empathy, honour and respect and most of all, love. Your unconditional love for your family and strength of your faith was without equal. You accepted Katie and Alyssa into the family from day one without question. Your love and support was always there, no matter what. Because of you and Dad we lived in a home filled with love and surrounded by family and friends. The door to the family home was always open and you never turned anyone away. You always looked for the good in people. You were an inspiration, a comforting voice of reason and a confidant to many. You suffered in silence over the past few years, never complaining, just getting on with making sure your family were safe and happy. You were the rock of the Catena family and your legacy continues on in your children and grandchildren. You will forever live in our hearts and minds.

Thank you for everything you have done for us, Rest in Peace with Dad and as promised we will always look after Joe and each other. Always loved and forever missed. Lots of love from Rob, Katie, Alyssa, Olivia and Zara.

Alyssa: "Nonna, you were always good to me and always made me feel welcome. Thank you, I love you and I know you are in a better place".

Olivia: "I miss you so much Nonna I wish you were here, I love you Nonna". Zara: "I love you Nonna, I miss you Nonna".

    CATENA (Sarah):

My precious, beautiful Mum. Since last Tuesday I never wanted you to let my hand go but God had a different plan. Thank you for your unconditional love, care and support from the day I was born. Mum, you were a hardworking, courageous, strong and selfless woman, full of love, grace, faith, dignity, humanity, intelligence, wisdom, compassion, empathy, tenderness and wit. I will forever miss the time we spent together; your beautiful smile, your laugh, your voice, your touch, your humour, stories of the people in your past, your advice and your cooking. My beautiful Mum, you suffered for so long but never complained. Now you are at peace and in God's care together with the Holy Virgin Mother whom you adorated daily. Give Dad a kiss and hug from me. Until my dying day, I will think of you and will miss you always. Life is never going to be the same and as the song says, "you were an angel in the shape of my Mum". Your heartbroken and loving son Patrick.

    Rest in Eternal Peace.

    CATENA (Sarah):

Always loving and kind, you guided us with your wisdom and faith. Your strength of character was inspiring. Thank you for being a wonderful Mother and Nonna. As much as it hurt to watch you go it would have been selfish to ask you to stay. Rest peacefully now, together with Dad. Know that we will try to follow your example to make both of you proud. All our love Stephen and Rosi.

    CATENA (Sarah):

We will miss listening to your stories which helped us to understand how life was for you as a young girl. Through them we learned about your kindness, strength and what it means to be a good person. We will try to also have these qualities as we grow. We will always remember you and the games we would play at the kitchen table. Love, Sarah, Claudia and Ariana.

    CATENA (Sarah):

In memory of our dear Nonna Sarah. We will always be grateful for everything you did for us and our whole family. You were a friend to so many people and we always enjoyed being in your company. We'll miss our chats over a cup of tea. You are an inspiration, a strong woman who created a loving and devoted family, one you can be forever proud of. Rest peacefully with Nonno. Miss you forever. Love Carla and Daniel.

    CATENA (Sarah):

Nonna, we have been left deeply saddened after your passing. You were truly an honourable woman who was sweet and caring to all who crossed your path. We are heartbroken that you won't be able to share our wedding day with us, but we know that you'll be looking down on us from heaven and sharing our day with Nonno. We love you very much and you will be sorely missed. Rest peacefully with God. Love always, Joseph and Monieka.
